Worked example
A server paid $2.13 in cash who works 30 hours and earns $200 in tips has an effective rate of $8.80 an hour, above the federal $7.25, so no make-up is owed. With $100 in tips the rate would be $5.46 and the employer would owe $53.60 for the week.
