Minimum wage poster requirements
Employers must post the federal minimum wage notice and, in most states, a state notice; what changes when a rate changes.
Every employer covered by the FLSA must display the U.S. Department of Labor's minimum wage poster where employees can readily see it. Most states require their own poster as well, and cities with ordinances usually require a local notice in the languages their workforce speaks. When a rate changes, the poster must be replaced; agencies publish the new version ahead of the effective date.
The federal poster is free from the Department of Labor. State and city posters are linked from the agency on each state and city page here. Employers with staff in several jurisdictions need every applicable notice.

Do I have to buy a minimum wage poster?
No. The federal poster and state posters are published free by the agencies; paid poster services are optional.
When does the poster have to be updated?
By the effective date of the new rate. Agencies release updated posters ahead of scheduled increases; the raises calendar on this site lists those dates.
